スリムタイプの二枚組用ジュエルケース入り。ブックレット(全16頁)に解説(英・独・仏)。

デイヴィッド・マンロウ指揮ロンドン古楽コンソート「中世・ルネサンスの楽器」。オリジナルは1976年に二枚組LPとして、マンロウによる図版入り解説本(100頁)を付してリリースされました。

本CDは廉価盤なので、ブックレットに記載されているのは最小限のデータと短い新規解説のみですが、これを繰り返してきいておけば楽器名とその音色がおぼえられるので、中世・ルネサンス音楽をきくときに「これはクラムホルンだな」「これはサックバットだな」とわかるようになるのでよいです。名曲の名演を楽しみながら古楽の勉強にもなる、クレマンシックの『古笛の響き』と共に、古き良き時代の「面白くて為になる」啓蒙CDでした。
