初期にはアラン・ロマックスやジーン・リッチーの影響で、イギリスからアメリカへ渡ったアパラチアの民謡に興味を抱いていたシャーリー・コリンズですが、インドやモロッコのエスニックな音楽から影響を受けたディヴィー・グレアムやインクレディブル・ストリング・バンド（マイク・ヘロン、ロビン・ウィリアムソン）との共演、姉ドリーの演奏するポルタティフ・オルガンや、次作『Anthems in Eden』での中世音楽のデヴィッド・マンロウとの共演など、トラッドのルーツを遡りつつジャンルを越えたボーダーレスなそれでいて極めて個性的な独自な展開を見せています。
