ブックレット（全24頁）にトラックリスト＆クレジット、Ralf Mattes, Crawford Youngによる解説（仏・英・独・伊）、歌詞（中世フランス語原文と仏・英・独・伊訳）。
1983年にバーゼルを拠点として結成された古楽グループ「フェラーラ・アンサンブル」による『美徳の花々：14世紀末のアルス・スブティリオルのシャンソン集』。
「シャンティイ写本」（Chantilly Codex）所収のアルス・スブティリオル（Ars subtilior）様式の楽曲を取り上げています（#3のみ別ソース）。#3、7、10はインスト。
本作と『Balades a III chans』（1995年）、『En doulz chastel de Pavie』（1998年）、『Corps femenin』（2010年）は2014年に4枚組CDボックスセット『Figures of Harmony: Songs of Codex Chantilly c.1390』として再発されています。
