1. So Early In The Spring (Trad. Arranged by Renbourn) 4:05
[As far as I know this is a Scottish song. I heard it sung unaccompanied by Jacqui McShee to a somewhat different melody. The melody I have is mixolydian.
- TUNING DGDGBD Capo 3]
2. Lindsay (Archie Fisher) 2:39
[A song by the Scottish singer and guitar player Archie Fisher. - TUNING DADGAD Capo 4
(Most of thsi lyrics is in Scottish dialect and looks strange to even an Englishman and I would think mystifying to a Japanese.)]
3. The Mist-Covered Mountain Of Home (Trad. Arranged by J. Renbourn) 2:13 / The Orphan (Trad. Arranged by J. Renbourn) 1:08
[Two Irish traditional melodies. - TUNING DGDGBbD Capo 2
(Guitar Solo)]
4. To Glastonbury (John Renbourn) 3:17
[A little song of my own about a town near my home in the south-west of England. This one has a rhythm pattern of 4/4 and 3/4. - TUNING DADGBE]
5. The English Dance (Trad. Arranged by J. Renbourn) 2:57
[This one comes from the same manuscript as the Early English Part-Song "SUMMER IS A-COMING IN". It has strayed a bit from the original but it's fun to play. - TUNING DGDGBD Capo 2
(Guitar Solo)]
6. The Bank Of Sweet Primroses (Trad. Arranged by J. Renbourn) 4:08
[A traditional English song from the south-west of England. It is probably best known from the singing of the Copper Family from Rottingdean, Sussex. - TUNING DADGAD]
7. Blues Run The Game (Jackson C. Frank) 4:05
[A song by an old friend of mine from the days of 'The Cousins' back in the Sixties Jackson Frank. He's up in Woodstock now and I wish him all the best. - TUNING EADGBE Capo 2]
8. Great Dreams From Heaven (Joseph Spence) 3:58
[This one's from the playing of Joseph Spence a wonderful old musician from the Bahamas. - TUNING DADGBE]
9. Peacock Rag (Trad. Arranged by J. Renbourn) 2:25
[A fiddle tune that I think comes from around the American north west. - TUNING DADF#AD
(Guitar Solo)]
10. If You Haven't Any Hay (Skip James) 2:32
[A blues from the great Skip James he plays this on piano. - TUNING DGDGBD Capo 2.]
11. The Young Man That Wouldn't Hoe Corn (Trad. Arranged by J. Renbourn) 3:51
[A wide-spread American song. I play this in the tuning EADGAE Capo 2. and throw in a couple of other dance tunes the first part of a little cajun tune and Cluck Old Hen.]
12. Buckets Of Rain (Bob Dylan) 2:51
[This is from the Bob Dylan's album 'BLOOD ON THE TRACKS']
