ブックレット（全12頁）に歌詞、クレジット、写真図版（モノクロ）14点。別冊ブックレット（全12頁）にトラックリスト、ジョン・グリーヴスによる本作コメント（日本語訳のみ）、日本語解説（竹村のぶかず／赤岩和美）、歌詞日本語訳（訳：AKIYAMA SISTERS INC.）。
元ヘンリー・カウのベーシスト、ジョン・グリーヴスのソロ第4作。ソロとはいえ、メイン・ヴォーカルは同郷ウェールズの詩人ディラン・トマスの詩「緑の導火線を通って花を咲かせる力は」（The force that through the green fuse drives the flower）に曲をつけた#4（とキャロライン・ローブとのデュエット#9）だけで、他はカンタベリー・ミュージック界の重鎮ロバート・ワイアット、盟友ピーター・ブレグヴァドの弟クリストファー・ブレグヴァド、フランスの女優キャロライン・ローブ、アメリカのソプラノ歌手サンジュ（S'Ange）ことスーザン・ベリング（Susan Belling／本作ゲストのデヴィッド・カニンガムのCD『Voiceworks』（1992年）にもグリーヴスともども参加。2000年自殺）がメイン・ヴォーカルをとっています。音の方はアンプラグドふうです。
#5と#11はグリーヴス＆ピーター・ブレグヴァドの『キュー・ローン』（1977年）収録曲で、ロバート・ワイアットが歌っています。マーカス・オデアーのワイアット伝『Different Every Time』によると、『キュー・ローン』はワイアットの愛聴盤で、予備も含めてLPを2枚もっていたそうです。同書によると最初ワイアットは本作レコーディングに乗り気ではなく、代りにアネット・ピーコックを推薦したそうですが、グリーヴスに押し切られてしまいました。キャロリン（Caroline）・ローブがメイン・ヴォーカルの「三幕から成る二分間オペラ」#6はそのワイアットへのオマージュで、男声コーラスの部分でワイアットのバンド「マッチング・モール」の1st収録曲「O Caroline」の歌詞「I love you still Caroline」の「I」が「we」に変更された形で歌われています。
#7は1st『Accident』（1982年）収録曲、#3、8は2nd『Parrot Fashions』（1984年）収録曲、その#3と#2はグリーヴスがブレグヴァド兄弟と結成したバンド「ザ・ロッジ（The Lodge）」の『Smell of a Friend』（1988年）でも取り上げられていました。
#9は本作についての自己言及的な歌、というかメンバー紹介です。
日本盤ボーナス・トラックの#12はエルトン・ディーンのサクセロとグリーヴスの語りをフィーチャーしていますが、ブックレットには「Thank you Anthony Burgess」とあるのでアンソニー・バージェス（1993年没）を朗読しているのかもしれないです。「Where is the bloody justice!」とか「rich capitalist」「Rothschilds」とかいっています。
本作の関連作品として、グリーヴスとワイアットがヴォーカルで参加しているソフィア・ドマンシックの『Snakes and Ladders』（2011年。本作収録のグリーヴスとドマンシックの共作曲「Back where we began」を「Lucky Day」のタイトルで再演しています。ヴォーカルはヒミコ・パガノッティ）と、Orchestre National de Jazzの『Around Robert Wyatt』（2009年。ワイアットが「The song」「Kew. Rhône. 」「Gegenstand」を歌っています）があります。
