Tracks 1-3 were recorded in late May, 1970 in London, England.
Tracks 4-5 were recorded in late November, 1969 in Paris, France.
The first part of track 6 was recorded in October and November, 1968 in the USA,
while the second part was recorded in mid 1969 in England.

透明ジュエルケース。ブックレット（全12頁）にAymeric Leroyによるライナーノーツ（「The May 1970 tape」「The septet tape」「The Moon In June demo」）、クレジット、写真図版（モノクロ）7点。インレイにトラックリスト＆クレジット。投げ込み（十字折り／片面印刷）にトラックリスト＆クレジット、坂本理による解説（2002.4.7）。
『Spaced』『Virtually』『Noisette』に続く、キュニフォーム・レーベルのソフト・マシーン発掘音源集第4弾。
#1～3は『Third』録音完成直後の1970年5月下旬、ロンドンでのライヴ（モノラル）。当時ソフト・マシーンのローディーだったRod YallopからMac MacLeodが貰い受けて30年間寝かせておいたテープがPhil Smeeに譲り渡され、キュニフォームからリリースされることになったもので、『Volume Two』のマイク・ラトリッジ、ヒュー・ホッパー、ロバート・ワイアットのトリオにブラス（エルトン・ディーン、マーク・チャリグ、ニック・エヴァンス、リン・ドブソン）が加わってセプテットになり、そこからチャリグ、エヴァンスが抜けてクインテットに、さらにドブソンが抜けてラトリッジ、ホッパー、ワイアット、ディーンのカルテットに落ち着いた段階での演奏です。#1、2は『Third』、#3は『Volume Two』収録曲。
#4、5は遡って1969年10月、セプテットでの数少ない録音の一つ。音質はあまりよくないです。
#6「Moon in June」（ワイアット作）はさらに遡って、前半は1968年、ラトリッジ、ワイアット、ケヴィン・エアーズのトリオでのアメリカ・ツアーの後、ワイアットがハリウッド（10月）とニューヨーク（11月）に居残って一人でスタジオ録音したもので、ワイアットはドラム＆ヴォーカルの他、オルガンとエレピも演奏しています。後半は1969年春、エアーズが抜けてホッパーが加わったトリオでの演奏。その後の『Third』収録ヴァージョンとはだいぶ違っています。
そういうわけで本作はエアーズ脱退から『Fourth』へ向けての、ソフト・マシーンの試行錯誤の過程がうかがわれて興味深いです。
