STORY:
RADIO GNOME is a
Kind of Telepathic Pirate
radio which transmits from a
FLYING TEAPOT coming from ze
planet Gong. It touches down in er...
Tibet but accidentally lands on the
prayer mat of Lawrence the Alien
who is most upset & does an ape (wot?
dance on his drums. The teapot is fullup
of Pot Head Pixies who are amazed at dis
their first meeting with an earthman. Ha.
But the Great yogi Banana Ananda rescues
them & introduces THE POT HEAD PiXIES to the
band who do the first number on Side two: 2.
Then the GREAT SAGES and wise GooRoos of the wee
pixies gnamed OCTAVE DOCTORS are there & laay up &
down subliminal secret wisdoms via THE CRYSTAL
MACHINE but who should show up but ZERO the HERO
who sings a song of love & devotion for the weeeee
pricksies sorry pixies. But the PHP'S dont wanna be
worshipped & so they take Zero through the Land of Scat &
magnetic fields of Bad de Grass where he sees a Flying Tea
pot & meets the WITCH yoni who bewitches everybody
into total float and then sings her theme song I AM YOUR PUSSY, with dingo offering her Fish & Chips. Could it be that she is a womens lib? is she really so good? WHO KNOWS? (to be continued in a little while)」

E式見開きジャケット。中ジャケにデヴィッド・アレンによる手書き文字トラックリスト＆クレジット＆ノート＆イラスト。紙製内袋。再プレス盤（Discogs情報によると1976年）です。その後のプレスではジャケ絵が変更されています。
ゴング星（プラネット・ゴング）から来たPHP（ポット・ヘッド・ピクシーズ）、コバイア星から来たマグマ、こりん星から来たゆうこりん、そういった設定に否応なく惹かれてしまうのは、新旧「コメットさん」を見て育ったゆえでしょうか。それとも月から来たかぐや姫を主人公とする『竹取物語』を最古の物語として持つ日本人のDNAのゆえでしょうか。
それはそれとして、本作はゴング全盛期の「ラジオ・グノーム・インヴィジブル」三部作のパート1で（パート2は『エンジェルス・エッグ』、パート3は『ユー』）、Virginが1973年にリリースした最初のレコードのうちの1枚です（V 2001はマイク・オールドフィールド『チューブラー・ベルズ』）、個人的には全ゴング作品中で最も好きなアルバムです。メンバーは変名でクレジットされていますが、デヴィッド・アレン（ヴォーカル、ギター）、ジリ・スマイス（スペース・ウィスパー）、ディディエ・マレルブ（サックス、フルート）、スティーヴ・ヒレッジ（ギター）、クリスチャン・トリッチ（ギター）、フランシス・モーゼ（ピアノ、ベース）、ローリー・アラン（ドラムス）、ティム・ブレイク（シンセサイザー）。コミカルで錯綜した曲構成とジャズ・ロック的な展開はフランク・ザッパ譲りですが、ヒッピー感覚全開のトリッピー＆トリッキーな世界観はデヴィッド・アレンならでは。何よりジリ・スマイスのスペース・ウィスパーが衝撃的でした。
