Scene One

Orpheus weeps for Eurydice. He stands motionless, with his back to the audience. Some friends pass bringing presents and offering him sympathy.
2. Air de danse (Andante con moto) 3:18
3. Dance of the Angel of Death (L'istesso tempo) 2:21
The Angel leads Orpheus to Hades.
4. Interlude (L'istesso tempo) 1:44
The Angel and Orpheus reappear in the gloom of Tartarus.
Scene Two
5. Pas des Furies (Agitato in piano) 2:53
(their agitation and their threats)
6. Air de danse (Orphée) (Grave) 2:27
7. Interlude (L'istesso tempo) 0:24
The tormented souls in Tartarus stretch out their fettered arms towards Orpheus and implore him to continue his song of consolation.

Orpheus continues his Air.
9. Pas d'action (Andantino leggiadro) 1:50
Hades, moved by the song of Orpheus, grows calm. The furies surround him, bind his eyes and return Eurydice to him. (Veiled Curtain)

(Orpheus and Eurydice before the veiled curtain) Orpheus tears the bandage from his eyes. Eurydice falls dead.
11. Interlude (Moderato assai) 1:10
(Veiled curtain, behind which the décor of the first scene is placed)
12. Pas d'action (Vivace) 2:22
The Bacchantes attack Orpheus, seize him and tear him to pieces.
Scene Three
13. Orpheus' Apotheosis (Lento sostenuto) 2:42
Apollo appears. He wrests the lyre from Orpheus and raises his song heavenwards.

オルフェウス室内管弦楽団によるストラヴィンスキー「オルフェウス」＆「協奏的舞曲」。

「オルフェウス」はジョージ・バランシンのバレエ団のために作曲されました（初演は1948年、舞台デザインはイサム・ノグチ）。
「協奏的舞曲」はコンサート用に作曲され（1944年）、のちにバランシンによって振り付けされました（1944年）。
